I've pretty much given up on posting picks. I'm decidedly not very good at it.
This was initially began as a photo blog, and I'm hoping to get that popping here soon.

Streak Picks July 16, 2009

Okay. Picking every matchup everyday is getting a little much for me. Too time consuming, and I'm picking sports I know absolutely nothing about. So I'm going to scale back to just picking a few matchups each day that I feel sure about, or at least slightly confident about.

So here goes it for tomorrow:

Streak Picks July 15, 2009

Not a bad day yesterday. Threw down on some baseball, missed the Zurich one completely, I expected them to own that game. One that I was also sure of was tennis, with Alla Kudryavtseva. I tend not to care about what percentages are on the board, as they only lead to trouble. Alla only had 15% but my gut feeling said she was going to win, and she did. Had a good feeling about WNBA too, I think that my be one of my best sports, getting both of those props right. My new policy is to never bet on the LA Sparks. I ended the day about half and half on the baseball with a few pushs here and there. Overall 7-4-2, not a bad day, coming off my first day of 4-3. My goal being to stay in the positive, so far, so good. I'm going to add a new format. When I think a game is a lock, I will bold it, similar to fellow blogger/streaker Zomb. This doesnt mean I'm going to pick the game, just that I'm very confident in it.

I finished the day with a streak of W4, I'm playing my cards much closer to my chest. That being said, here are the tentative picks for tomorrow:

I don't feel confident with any picks today. I will throw one up there and say Stabæk takes a win at Tirana. My record will very likely go to shit tomorrow. But that is the nature of this game.

Streak Picks July 13, 2009

I've been inspired to do something similar to a fellow blogger on here in regard to Streak picks. Now, I know nothing about sports except which team wins or loses, so don't expect any expert analysis or preview/predictions, I would just like to use this space to see how many picks I would win if I actually did try to pick every game possible. I will start this tomorrow and see how it goes.
My actual streak is not doing so hot, I'm sitting on a W3 after yesterdays action.

CONCACAF Gold Cup - July 7th 2009

Jul 7th - Today the second round of CONCACAF Gold Cup group stage matches begin, with Group A hosting two games.

First, Jamaica take on Costa Rica at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus. This should be a tightly contested game, with Costa Rica coming out on top. After disappointing against El Salvador, the top team of CONCACAF qualifying should not disappoint against a weaker Jamaican side.
Prediction: 2-0 CostaRica

The second match played at Columbus Crew Stadium will be Canada vs. El Salvador. Canada failed to convince against Jamaica, playing rather uninspiring football. Add to that the head to head records in recent matches (WCQ, 2008), El Salvador should have the edge against Canada. I imagine this to weigh heavily in in El Salvadores favor, but expect scrappy play from the Canadians.
Preditcion: 2-1 El Salvador

In other news, my streak isn't doing so hot. After hitting a L3 streak yesterday after imploding on myself, I righted the ship with a win from Kalmar FF earlier and am taking the Los Angeles Angel to win tonight against Texas.

Music


Grabbed a couple of albums lately. Some new hip hop, maybe you've heard of it, maybe you haven't.

First up is RZA's new collab, Wu-Tang's Chamber Music, I havent give this a listen yet, but it's from Wu-Tang, you know it's quality.

Next up is the new J Dilla mix, Jay Stay Paid. Continuing the line of cleverly titled albums featuring Jay's name, this is classic Dilla at it's best. Featuring a smattering a excellent MCs and mixed by none other than Pete Rock, this one is definitely worth a few listens.

Third and finally, MF Doom relesased a new album a little while back. Entitled Born Like This, I'm still growing into this. Doom has always taken awhile to grow on me. I hated MM... Food at first, but then couldn't live without it. Same with Madvillian. The beats seem a little lacking, and the album doesn't seem to flow as well as earlier offerings.

Well, theres my two cents. I have begun my second semester of summer school. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
